L. Ornatipinnis fry
I have a Tang community tank and 2 of my 4 L.Ornatipinnis paired off and spawned in a shell.I know that the fry will get eaten if I don't move them, my question is, should I just remove the shell with the fry and replace it with another one or should I move the parents along with the fry. The problem being that I only have a spare 15 gallon at the moment.

Re: L. Ornatipinnis fry
How large is the main tank? What are the other fish, and how much hiding spots are there? It was rare for me to remove fry from my community tanks, and was always pleasantly surprised at what survived, many of the Tangs are good parents.
180 gal - Tanganyikan community tank: Tropheus Bemba, Synodontis Petricola, Compressiceps
125gal - South American community: Geophagus, Acara, Angels, Severum, Festivum

75 gallon ,lots of hiding spots. I have Calvus, Dickfeldi, and Transcriptus as tankmates. The fry are around the shells that are out in the open.

If you have enough shells/hiding places in the tank I would expect many of the fry to survive just fine without your needing to do anything more. Good luck!
