Tank Mates for Neolamprologus pulcher

Postby Digital » Thu Oct 29, 2020 11:17 pm

Hi all. I have about 8 juvie Neolamprologus pulcher in a 125G. What else could I put in there that could hold their own?

Would Calvus be ok? What about some small shellies?

This is a link to a website created by a Moderator with an eight foot tank and quite an assortment. In a tank smaller than 72" many people find that a species tank works better since they tend to kill other fish when they spawn. I am surprised the brevis and cyps survive in the tank featured on the website. I might try leleupi.

I tried to mimic Franks tank on a smaller scale and found very few other fish that were able to hold their own in a Brichardi-type mixed tank. I had Helianthus take over most any tank they were in just by sheer breeding unless your diligent in pulling out fry or trying to sex out only females in a rather monomorphic species of fish. For a long time I was able to keep Telmatochromis Temporalis shellies in a 75g tank with Brichardi.
