Hi all,
With my tank recently finishing the cycle, I would like to stock it with some Multies. However, I was wondering if you could help by telling me how many I should get. The tank is 29 gall with 23 escargot shells in place. We are thinking of getting 6 ( 2m 4f) but with 29 gall do you think we should get more?
Would love to hear your thoughts.

Definitely not more. All you need to end up with is one pair, and they will fill a 29 with fry before you can say, well, fish fry. Have fun!

Thanks for replying Keith! We've also recently been looking into fairy cichlids (neolamprologus brichardi) as potential tank mates. Would a couple of these work in a 29 with Multies? I know they could pose a threat to some fry but I don't mind unless they eat all of them!
Would love to hear your thoughts.

Brichardi would be OK in that tank as the only species, but they tend to kill everything in the tank when they spawn, so you may not want to stock them in a 29G with any tank mates.
