Hello all! I have a 40 gallon set up that i have running now with just assorted malawi cichlids (electric yellow/blue)im just establishing the tank with the two fish and then will move to my nephews 10 gallon. I want to go tanganyika, my question for you guys is what are some hardy fish to start off with? I eventually want to end up with frontosas, calvus and tropheus . Is this group even possible? Filtered via penn-plax cascade 700.

Frontosa works in a 72" tank. Tropheus works as a large group in a 48x18 75G rectangle group. Calvus MIGHT work with either of those.

How long is your ...most commonly they are 36". Calvus will work in a 36" tank...buy six and end up with a pair.

There might be some shell dwellers that could work there instead.
