Cyps Okay with Tropheus?

Postby punman » Sat Apr 26, 2008 8:32 am

Could I have, in a 180 gallon tank, 15 Cyprichromis Utinta adults in with 20 Tropheus Duboisi maswa that are 2 inches long?
If I later add a second variety of tropheus, could I still keep the cyps there?

I myself would not try it for 2 reasons.

1st reason is I think the Tropheus will be to hyper for the Cyps and they will cause the Cyps to stress out once they mature.

2nd reason is the differents in diets.

I haven't tried the combination so I can't say for sure if it will or won't work

I agree with 12pointer. Tropheus just way too hyper for cyps..

i have about 15 3" tropheus in with 14 cyps 2-3inches. The cyps are a little stressed out but the big thing is that they cant really breed in with tropheus because the tropheus interupt it.
