my electric blue ahli about 4 inches long was dead at the bottom of tank. when i got it out its mouth was wide open and the whole fish was packed full of gravel. i imagine it choked on it. has anyone else had this happen. i just got some sand to switch over my fry tank and i think i want to do that in the main tank now too just in case.
Very weird. I doubt the fish choked on rocks, just that the fish died and somehow ended up like that. Or something was seriously wrong here. I'm not sure anybody has ever had one die from eating gravel.
That's a new one for me as well, but I'd go for the theory of a strange disorder making the fish eat gravel ; most dead fish end up floating, while this one was stuck to the bottom of the tank, which could indicate to it actually eating gravel and ending up being too heavy to float when dying.
