i currently have two convict cichilds both male (one smaller than the other) and one tiger striped oscar cichild. my bigger convict keeps attacking my oscar and smaller convict. i currently have three hideouts spread in the tank and the bigger convict has managed to control all of them he swims back and forth and whenever one of the others get close he bites and chases them away. and i am getting worried as i am noticing a lot of jagged fins and tails on both my oscar and smaller convict so a lot of nipping is going on. what should i do? should i remove the aggresive fish and return to the pet store?

How big is the tank they are in?
they are in a 10 gallon as of now and are fairly young as well but as i know this isnt nearly enough space for them so i am upgrading to a 55 gallon very soon then later on as they grow a 100gallon. i have removed the hideouts from the tank as i read that if they have nothing to fight over then they wont fight. it seems to be working as of now but i dont want to have to keep the houses out of the tank. also when i put them in the tank i noticed that my nitrite level is now at caution whereas before it was a 0 for nitrate and nitrite. i am new to fish keeping so any help is really appreciated.
