The Ad Koning books are excellent in every way. The best available by far. Their other books are of high quality also, as well as the quarterly magazine Cichlid News. Cichlid Press is a small independant publisher, and it is very impressive that they can publish with such quality.
As for direct service, they are quick and I've had no problems. Their online ordering is kinda primitive, but i've had no problems. Cheaper online also.
The quality of konings books are without a doubt top notce. If you collect wild fish you should definitly invest in at least one of his books. He has pictures and information on variants that you just cannot get anywhere else. Price is somewhat on the higher side, don't get me wrong you get what you pay for, but it might discourage people who are unfamilar with his books from taking that initial plunge.

My wife and I went to Lake Tanganyika with Ad Konings in October of 2003. The trip was everything I had hoped for and much more. You've all read his books, truly the standard in the Cichlid hobby, imagine 2 weeks on Tanganyika with Ad as your guide. I can't think of anything I would change. I'm ready to return. How about you?
