I ordered 5 fish from from them. The biggest of them all Insignis 6" wasn't in enough water to keep him alive. When I got him he was on his side in the box because there wasn't enough water for him to swim upright, and he was needing O2 asap so I dropped him right away. He's ingested so much air that he can't swim right at all, he's head standing BAD. He's going to die before long. The yellow blaze I ordered has nubs for pelvic fins, and I paid a very premium price for him too. Lastly, the Imperial I ordered has bloody fins, a bad bacterial infection. When I told the lady that answered the phones that the fish didn't have enough water in his bag, and she told me I was lying, and that she packed the fish herself. What I saw and what she saw were two completely different things. Their negligence and need to save money on shipping ended up costing me money. I will never buy from them again, and will do everything to spread the word about this terrible company. I've bought BIG fish from many different companies, and have never seen this or been treated like this... Thumbs waaayy down
My order was prompt and the price was right called Friday late afternoon and fish where in my tank Monday be for noon. an extra fish was added at no extra cost I will buy all my stock from F.T.F.D. Once again great I placed my order on Friday after noon and by Tuesday afternoon my order was in my thank (plus another extra fish)
I ordered 24 fish from Florida Tropical Fish Direct, 8 Saulosi, 8 Rustys, and 8 Cobalt Albinos all 1 to 1/2 inches. I placed my order late Wednesday afternoon. The fish shipped the next day, and I had them on Friday.
All of the fish arrived alive and in good health. They were packaged very well with a conditioner in the water.
They included an extra fish of each type for a total of 27, and a big bag of food.
Their prices were lower than any of the other mail order fish places that I checked, and the shipping was only $20 here in Florida.
Overall I recommend you check them out if you plan to mail order fish, or if you live in their neighbor hood.
This retailer's website may not have all the bells and whistles, but I found their customer service quite helpful. I filled out their contact form late at night and left a phone message the next day, and let them know that I was going to be making an order for fish that week and needed to price their shipping soon. They responded by email, I called back and they answered all my questions. Shipping was done very well, and they added four littler fish to my 15-fish order just in case, but all 19 saulosi arrived alive and well (overnight shipping) and are doing just fine two days later! There's even a nicely-barred tiny male already strutting his stuff.
I visited their fish farm for a local pickup while I was on vacation. I purchased 30+ Tang. cichlids (6 different types) and all are doing very well. My family and I were given a tour and allowed to look at all the different species of fish. Their website does not list all the fish available. If you are looking for something not listed call Jennifer or Mike they are very helpful and friendly. Mike packed my fish for transport just like they would ship them and provided a large bag of food. The prices were very reasonable compared to LFS and other online retailers. I will definetly do business with them again.
I ordered a fairly large Hypselecara temporalis from them, he arrived quickly, the shipping charges were VERY fair and they even gave me a free bag of their own food. I had a few questions for them and Jennifer promptly gave me the information. Good customer service and lovely fish.
I ordered 4 gold jacks and 2 festae from them. The fish were great, they even threw in an extra gold jack. The service was prompt and when they sent the fish, they immediately emailed me the USPS tracking service. They have a great stocking list and I would definitely order from them again.
