"Best Fish Store I Know of on this Continent"
There's a pet store with a larger aquatics department of equal quality in a warehouse district in Karlsruhe, Germany. They're the best I've seen in Europe. Aquatic Life Forms is the best I've seen in North America. Those are the two I like to buy from. The owner takes fantastic care of his animals and is so knowledgeable that I often wonder why Steinhart hasn't recruited him as a manager. Luckily for aquarium hobbyists like me, though, he's on Mary Ave every day to answer questions and provide all the information, equipment, aquariums, and fish that we need. I've been going there for years and just came back today with a bottle of cichlid feed and some sound advice on relocating my aquarium, decorating it, and keeping it cleaner. Whether you own a goldfish bowl, an 80-gallon like me, or a 300-gallon behemoth, this place will help you out. If nothing else, go there to see the gorgeous aquariums! Just don't tell Steinhart Aquarium about him.

"Great Prices on TruVu Tanks"
I was shocked at his pricing for TruVu tanks. TruVu is local to the bay area, and you can tell he tries to support them by giving his customers a great bargain. I got my 125G acrylic for clost to the cost of a glass tank at Petco. The owner is very helpful when you have questions (and sometimes even when you don't).

I've bought several fish from this store and have been nothing but happy with them. The fish being sold are always in excellent condition, and the owner won't sell you a new/questionable fish before he's satisfied that it's healthy. I highly recommend that anyone in the Silicon Valley stop by for a visit.

"Excellent Experience"
A truly excellent store with an owner, Robert Crosby, who knows and loves fish. Also understands that large cichlids should be priced reasonably and has great deals on tanks and accessories. Very patient and knowledgable, and offers some nice variety of cichlids for sales. Highly recommended and have started frequenting more for feeders and other fish supplies.

"Best cichlid selection in the South Bay"
I have frequented this store literally dozens of times since it opened. Excellent selection for cichlids. You usually cannot find the South/Central Americans that this place has in other . shops. Livestock is quite healthy, otherwise it doesn't get sold. Robert Crosby's helpful knowledge and friendliness makes this an excellent place to browse. Rarely do I leave without picking up something new. The prices on New Life Spectrum food are also better than what you can get mail-order if you factor in shipping and handling. I only wish I had more tanks so I could purchase more fish from Aquatic Life Forms. Highly recommended.

"My favorite fish store!"
An absolutely excellent freshwater fish store (limited salt in back). The tanks are well laid out, consistent in size, easy to view, and kept clean and healthy. While he has a good number of tropicals and goldfish, Robert's best selection is cichlids. He's extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and the prices are reasonable, especially given the cost of running a business in the Bay Area. His stock is high quality and he is very selective in his suppliers. For those of you in the area who used to shop at the Waterline, Robert used to manage there for several years. Check it out if you haven't already.

"Best fish store in the south bay"
Aquatic Life Forms is easily the best fish store in the San Jose area. Their selection of cichlids is stellar, and the quality of all of their fish is excellent. The owner is friendly and talkative. Lastly, their prices on fish tanks are cheap too! Unbeatable.

"Best Choice of Buying Cichlid"
I have been shopping aroung the area to almost ALL LFS, and this is the best place for Cichlids. He has great selections of Cichlids, with different sizes as well. Price is good for large fish (like a 10" Oscar for only $29.99) but regular in small to medium. Owner is very patient in answering all questions.

Finally!! A LFS in the Silicon Valley with reasonable prices & tons of Cichlids to choose from. Staff was very friendly & owner Robert Crosby answered all of my questions. First time visit, but I'll be back!!
