"Best Quality I've used..."
This is the best quality cichlid food I've used to date. The colors of my fish became more vibrant, kept them super active, and gave them robust growth. Everything I could want in a fish food. I didn't have any problems with dust, which is most hobbyists biggest complaint.

"The Best Out There!!!"
This is truly the best cichlid food out there. All my cichlids are fed NLS exclusively and they are flourishing with the most amazing colors I have seen. My victorian cichlids are beauties and are very healthy. I am so glad that NLS was invented, otherwise my fish wouldn't be like this. All other foods like Omega One, Hikari, etc. gave me bloat and other dietary issues when I used them, until I found NLS. Never had a problem whatsoever and I am a proud user of NLS. I will never use other foods, but only NLS for life! I give this food an A++++++++++++. Thank you for the awesome food.

I've noticed certain products are very popular on certain forums. NLS seems to be very popular here.

Don't get me wrong- this is a quality product and I use it myself, but I don't find it to be any better than other high quality fish foods available on the market. I also feed Hikari and Omega One products to my fish and find them to be just as good as the NLS, although those don't seem to enjoy the reputation and support on the fish forums.

Great product, but don't buy into the hype: it isn't the "be all, end all" product its reputation would lead you to believe.

"between good and fantastic"
This product is really good for colour enhancing and my fish love this. But it makes water mess a little bit.

"Great food"
Overall a good food.I have yet to see an increase in color from any of my fish. Maybe if you feed fish that presently lack color. I bought it based on the ingredients as they are higher quality than other foods. Definitely over-hyped. Good food but what is all the fuss about?

"Good food, but not as good as others report"
I bought a 5 pound bucket from Big Al's about 4 months ago partly because of the reviews I read on this site. I have to say I was a little disappointed. First let me say that I don't think any food could live up to some of the rave reviews on here. I don't think the reviews are very objective. BTW I keep Tang and Malawi Cichlids.

My experience:
Color enhancement - virtually none.

Vibrant/healthy fish - keep your water quality good, I don't think any food will have that big an effect on your fish's health, most food today will keep your fish alive and healthy.

Do Fish eat it - yes, all fish will eat this. My fussy Calvus eat this readily.

Density - sinks like a stone, I wish it didn't sink so fast.

Percentage Protein - about 30%, fairly low, great for adult Cichlids.

Pellet size - I bought the small size, good for fish up to 5 inches (Good for my adult Tropheus)

Conclusion: a good food, no where as good as some reviews claim. When this bucket is finished I don't know if I will buy another.

Positives - everything eats it.
Negatives - sinks way too fast.

I've used it for a year now on a mix of herbivores and carnivores and they all love it and are thriving on it. I highly recommend it.

"Excellent Product!"
All of my fish, from African and New World cichlids to rainbows and other tropicals, LOVE this food. I have noticed a dramatic improvement in overall health and vitality since switching to New Life recently.

"Great Pellets"
All of my African cichlids love this pellet. They prefer it to some of the more expensive pellets.

"Wear a raincoat when feeding"
I have a mix of Malawi and Tanganyika cichlids with plecos and bala sharks. They will devour this food in seconds! This is by far their favourite food (next to live food). Only complaint I have is if you overfeed, it breaks down quickly and temporarily clouds the water from the debris. Not recommended if you have large gravel stones as the pellets will fall in-between the stones.

"Best food ever, and Fish love it..."
My baby fronts love the cichlid formula. As well as my Red Top Kimpuma's, Afra Jalo reefs, Afra Hai reefs, and my Psuedo. Elongatus. It brings the color out of them, and its always a mad dash to get to the food.
