I use a 50/50 mix of "color fx" and "veggie fx". This is the best food you can buy for colorful show quality fish. Very healthy for them and produces great color. In response to other reviews, any uneaten food will cloud water. DUH. Only feed what will be eaten immediately. I'm close friends with the vice chairman of the american cichlid association and this is what he sells in his shop and feeds his own fish. LOOK AT THE PICS OF MY FISH. THEY SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES.
I was feeding my cichlids COLOR FX for a month and a half. I wanted to try NLS, however after seeing the difference in the color and behavior. I am convinced that COLOR FX is allot better than NLS.
I bought ColorFX small (3mm) size pellets for the following fishes: 2 Cyrtocara Moorii, 1 Jewel Cichlid, 4 Neolamprologus Leleupi, 3 Male Aulonocaras, 3 yello Labs among others. To my surprise only the male Moorii and the Jewel Cichlid take the pellets, all other spit it after trying to chew on it (seems to be too hard). I've even tried to feed it to them after 24 hours of fasting and they won't take it.
It's not a matter of new food, I have already tried other brands and they take it on the first feed.
I use a combination of the Veggie and Color FX. My fish have grown fast and show quality color. Most of which did not before I start useing. It is a little pricey but well worth the money. Check out my profile to see my fish.
Is great for fish coloration, growth, and fin regeneration. I feel it's nutritionally superior to NLS but it clouds the water REALLY BAD!!! It leaves a green cast to the water which is unattractive in a show tank.
it is great for bring out the color of your cichlid. But at the same time it will cloud up your water bad and you will have to do more water change for it leaves a protine like substance on your filter pads.....
