I have been using a Tetra Whisper internal filter for approx 1 year and like its quietness, ease of use and cleaning is simple. I have a small 20 gallon with tetras. I have not had mechanical problems. I use it with a tetra HOB on opposite side of Aquarium. It is a lage internal filter however and reqires some hiding to keep from being an eyesore.
