This stuff looks great, a nice departure from white and off-white substrates. It has a strong golden hue to it, which is greatly reduced when you rinse it. And rinsing takes a while. In fact, you'll lose a decent amount of the finer stuff when you rinse it, which you'll definitely need to do repeatedly, as the dust and finer sand particles are pretty difficult to get out. When it's clean and in the tank, it looks about 75% crushed shell when you look at your tank, but I think it's a nice look (see my 20g tank profile for a pic). It is still plenty sandy enough for fish to sift through. As with all these hobby substrates, it's pricey, considering you can get pool filter sand for about 1/7th the price. I was lucky enough to get it for $3/22lb bag... :D
