White haze on an eye...

Postby sleepy09 » Wed Feb 11, 2009 12:13 am

I just brought home 12 fish. 2 of them have a white haze on one eye. Is this something to worry about or do I need to do something to fix this? I tried to see if I could search for a thread that described this problem with no luck.

If that is the only symptoms, hopefully they just scratched their eye, (has happened to my fish many times) But keep a close eye on them, do good water changes, and possibly add some aquarium salt to help along. :thumb:

It's called "cloudy eye".

It's usually brought on by poor water quality, injury or as a precursor to a bacterial infection.

Since you just got these fish, it's probably related to netting and transporting them.

Melafix and daily water changes should resolve it.
