I'm running a CWC on my 75g and I would say it was worth it....BUT that is assuming both your tank setup as well as location make it feasible.
*I had 3 breeding tanks going and was in the planning stages for a larger tank when I purchased my house.
*I had an easy connection to both the water and sewer in the basement almost directly below my tank.
*I planned to run a sump filtration, so incorporating a system overflow was simple.
I do 2 "major" services a year on my tank. Clean the sump, scrub down the glass, turn over the sand, and trim/rearrange the plants. All totaling less than hour of time. The rest of the time its feed daily and adjust the water drip system monthly (compensating for external conditions like evaporation).
I squeeze out the foam in my sump every 3-4 months when flow is noticeably slowed. It's worth it.
