Unidentified Cichlids • need help id-ing my new stock, only four fish (pic heavy) :P

new to cichlids not to fishkeeping, got them from the infamous "assorted african cichlids" tank at my LFS, need help identifying species because down the road i would like the breed (:

any help would be appreciated, looked through the profiles and couldn't quite put my finger on specific breeds.

First, I'd say a zebra hybrid
Third, is a male metriaclima Greshakei
Fourth, A johanni?

Third one is a labeotropheus fueleborni
Fourth and fifth is the greshakei (nice ones)
Sixth and seventh look like Melanochromis auratus but with very faint color
I don't see any Johanni there

thank you for the replies, lol this helps out so much, as im still trying to work out what species i want in the tank, i believe theyre all males, although they havent been verry agressive, and the greshakei, which i thought he was, has that burn on his side because my hob filter is an aqueon 55 so the impeller motor is on the inside of the tank, turns out hes the perfesct size to get stuck inbetween the motor and glass, currently treating him with aquarium salt and melafix. but anyway thank you all (:

2nd is not a fuelleborni and yep Auratus for the 4th, couldn't think of the name, not sure why johanni popped into my head.

Kinnda looks like it has the fat upper lip like the fuelleborni does. Can you get a front view of that on poster?

2nd one does look sort of like a Fuelliborni. Maybe the upper lip is not very big from many generations removed from the lake... or a mix with a Zebra

Don't have enough knowledge of Africans but they look good especially the 3rd pic.

The first one looks like either a Red Zebra/Exaperatus mix or a Kenyi/Exaperatus mix. I have 3 hybrids from a male Kenyi/exaperatus hookup that look very similar.

55g is too small for all these guys as a breeding tank Pos Ok as all male community. Seriously you should go to a breeder get young IDed Mbuna mostly females and 55g compatable if looking to breed Mbuna in a 55g and not keep these guys.

For a mixed Mbuna tank about the usual haul of common but large and/or aggressive species.

1 Metriaclima estherae or hybrid
2 Labeotropheus fuelleborni or pos fuelleborni x Metriaclima hybrid Yep nose too small but not sure of the reason.
3 Metriaclima greshakei
4 Melanochromis auratus

well I've decided to get rid of all of them but the greshakei, would one male and four greshakei females be okay in a 55g?

Prob the best shot. Prob try it with even more females myself. (yep bred these guys in a 4 foot species tank.)
He may be a bit old and mean so prob best to pop him behind a barrier when introducing the new guys settle those and then let him out and see if it works.

awesome, still new to the whole thing, trying to work out the seemingly thousands of details, im liking how all the species are named in latin, but i know I have fallen in love with the grehakei lol
