Would these work together?

Postby Wspchef2001 » Thu May 10, 2012 1:20 pm

Hey thanks for looking. I have a fully cycled 55g and was wondering if these would work. Shooting for a 1m/4f ratio.

I have seen posts that provide reasons why the kribs and Malawi are not ideal together, but I can't recall the reasons. Maybe someone will chime in.

From what I"ve read, Kribs like sofer water and plants, the exact opposite of mbuna. The mbuna are much more aggresive and will likely torment the kribs. I wouldnt mix them, for no other reason than the kribs will be completely unhappy in that environment.

These are NOT kribensis as in Pelvicachromis. They are a Lake Victorian Haplochromis, There is no issues with the water parameters in mixing these fish.

There is a good possibility that the OP's mix will work out just fine, but then with individual fish personalities, you can never guarantee anything.
