I have just recently bought 12 F1 Tropheus Ilangi from my lfs and they are settling in to my 8 foot tank nicely, i plan on also getting about 8 Duboisi some ikola and something else however i want something very rare and beautiful and can't decide on what to get. Obtaining these fish is not a problem for me but it is just a matter of choosing which ones i like.
Any ideas??

Great pick up of the Nkamba. If it was me, I would pick up a group of Duboisi and mix them in with the Ilangi.

No idea what you like. Thats up to you. Just most Tropheus can cross so the suggestions kind of reflect this.
Mind you many more can cross than many folk seem to believe.
All the best James

anything
I don't think he's concern about breeding? I think he wants more of a show tank rather than a breeding group. So anything that he chooses should be fine. I mean a 8ft breeding tank of 12 Ilangi is very extreme?

I was thinking more Ilangi. I have a group of around 36 right now in a 5' 120. Crossbreeding isn't an issue unless you keep the fry. I have kept my Trophs in mixed tanks and they never show their full potential. Only after they have been seperated have they shown their best colours. I would agree though, if you are going to mix them either Dubs or Brichardi would be a good idea. I personally would try to find some namansi reef.
