Male? Female?

Postby Cichlid boy » Sun Apr 02, 2017 10:59 pm

I just picked up one more female for both my D. Compressicep and my N. Venustus. They both look like males though to me.

I traded the guy one extra male that I had for the two. They're both a good 6-7"

Not quite sure on the D. Compressicep as I don't have much knowledge of those.

As for the Venustus I would say female as long as it isn't in it's juvenile stage. This is based off the anal and dorsal fin. Most males I have seen have more of a point to the anal and dorsal like most Malawi Haps/Peacocks. Those seem pretty rounded from this image so I would lean toward female unless it is still very young. Pretty colorful though too but I've seen that in females before.
120 - All male Peacock/Hap (17) and 1 Blue Phantom Pleco
55 - Empty (Cleaning)
40 - 1 Rubescens and 2 unknown female
40 - M and F Daffodil Brichardi with 3 sets of fry
20 - 29 Rubescens fingerlings, 1 LF BN Pleco
10 - Soft Shell turtle
