Compatability question

Postby Boyracer1 » Thu Mar 09, 2017 9:46 pm

Hi all, I am planning a stock list for a 120x55x50 330 litres.
8 x labidochromis Caulerus
8 x Maingano
4 x Socolofi

Any input appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the feedback. Was intending to aim for 1M for maingano and socolofi and 2/3M for the yellow Labs. The stockist I plan to use tries to sell in pairs though?
I am buying at around 4-5cm Would this be large enough to vent?
Will be expensive if I receive to many males..

I'd go with more Females on C. Socolofi. 4 minimum, preferably more. If you can sex them, great. If not, buy double the amount of the number of females you want to end up with.

Agreed. I had some Albino Socolofi a few months back that were only about 1.5". Bought 5 unsexed and immediately one male claimed the left side of the tank and another claimed the right. I was surprised how extreme the aggression was tbh.

Socolofi were very aggressive for me as well.

Yea man...
I kept them in a 125 with Tropheops sp Chilumba, L. Fuelleborni, M. Pyrsonotos and M. Chipokae. All fish were 2.5-4.5" at the start. I found the Socolofi to be the worst, right underneath the Chipokae.

I wouldn't recommend that mix. I'd try 4 species, though.
