are these ok in same tank?

I was just reading the story in about the Labidochromis sp. “gigas pombo”..
Would it be ok in a tank with a yellow lab or would they cross breed?

Can they cross breed=yes.
Will try cross breed=Who knows. They look very different, so not likely.

Basically it seems anything will cross breed unless proper male to female ratios are maintained. Keeping two of the same species will only increase the chances of that...

Further I understand some have success keep the same genus together if one is solid-colored and one is barred. I have never tried it and I'd be afraid to in this case just because the gigas is more aggressive than the labidochromis.

Why not choose a blue barred fish from a different genus? If your tank is big enough.
