Re: need expertise asap
I think they should all be ok, enough of a color difference between the three. What size were you planning on ordering?

Re: need expertise asap
The mixes seem fine, but if your plans are 1:8, you are better with two species. 27 fish is going to be too much for a 55 gallon.

+1 on this. I'm in the process of setting up a 55 gallon, and I was very interested in Mainganos, but everything I've read on here points to a #%$& shoot with them in a 55 gallon. You might get away with it, but maybe half the time, it's just not enough room and it becomes a disaster. 75 gallons seems to be the magic number for them to do reliably well.

Re: need expertise asap
It's not that the maingano will attack the other species...they will kill each other unless they have a large enough tank. Hope you get a peaceful bunch. For the maingano I would have ordered 14 because to spread aggression you want to end up with 1m:7f.

You should be ok. You'll probably end up with 6 females-which is tight, but should be ok.

The Aquatop CF500UV? I just installed mine today, and I love it. Great choice if that's what you're getting. It's a big bang for the buck, and awesome customer service to boot.
