Newly Established Malawi Tank

Postby ericjprice05 » Fri Sep 14, 2012 1:11 am

Hello everyone, I'm new to Cichlids, just set up 45 gallon Lake Malawi mainly Mbuna tank, yes I know it's smaller than suggested, but if I can convince the wife, hopefully within the next year or two when the fish grow I can upgrade tank size, so I got crushed coral for the base and a bunch of dead live rock from an old salt water tank for cover, currently occupying ten african malawi cichlids (+3 fry if you can see in one video, they are hiding under the coral rock), various species....just posting to show my tank and introduce myself, I have to videos that can be seen on youtube. thanks in advance for comments. :D :D :D

Welcome to Cichlid-forum. Tell her you need that tank within six months (they grow fast). How big are they now? Lots of tanks available on Craig's List.

Hello Eric! Nice videos.

Shoot for a 75 gallon, 4' tank, at the minimum. You've got some pretty aggressive fishes in there.
