beach sand?????

Postby chago » Thu May 22, 2008 2:51 pm

how well does it work to have beach sand as substrate for a Frontosa cololny? There are two types that i'm interested in, one is white, the other black.

Its very fine, with particle size similar to common salt.

I plan to use around 3" of substrate cause they dig a LOT !!!!

Should i use some snails to turn it over?, could i just stir it with a stick every month?, I really don't want to use a UCG...
