I am almost ready to embark on a new Tank, specifically a Tanganykan only Tank
I currently have 4 white calvus and 3 Burundi Frontosa in with my Malawi Tank but the time has come to start a Tang only tank
These fish are sstill small with the fronts being maybe 3 inches max and the calvus a bit smaller
My tank will be minimum 6 foot 125 gallon (or larger if can be brought into the basement)
I have been reading and seeing videos of Tang Tanks and most seem to have that blue look to them dark and eerie..which is what I want
Is that all done with lighting and if so what is the best type for that?
I see some now use LED lights but can the same effect be done with say a white and actinic light split at 50% each
as for substrate, would an off white crushed coral substrate work as well as a dark background?
I would probably end up buying 2 or 3 more Fronts and maybe some Comps
