Leaking Eheim 2028
I purchased a used Eheim 2028 on Ebay a few months ago. It was fine for a few wks., but now leaks in the power head area. I have another 2028 that I bought new 5or 6 yrs. ago. On the new one I just got, I replaced the sealing gasket as I have had to do with the other one on occasion. It turns out after further inspection and leakage that it seems to be leaking inside the power head. Does anybody have any ideas where to look before I shell out some big bucks for a new powerhead, if I can find one?

Re: Leaking Eheim 2028
The leak is probably coming from the priming plunger. There is an O-ring that can be replaced or lubricated, but it is tricky to get the plunger assembly out.

Perfect advice from the above poster. I have used the article and the seller to get my 2028 back in working order. As far as I am aware, the posted link is the only available location to purchase the primer pump o-ring.

Thank you for the replies and the websites. Will definitely give them a look. Thanks again. I wish Eheim would just do away with that priming mechanism. I never use it.

My 2026 was leaking in the primer pump area. I followed directions I found here, disassembled and cleaned, applied vaseline to the o-ring and reassembled. This worked for me.
