Python Water Changer
I can't seem to find the anwser to this any where so I'm going to try here
After I start the siphon by turning the water on and I have it siphoning water is it ok to turn the water off. Just seems like a lot of wasted water to me.
May the holes in your net be no larger than the fish in it.

Yes but it will drain really slow. I do it all the time.

I turn my water off and it sucks debris and everything else up just fine. 50% of the water in my 180 takes about 15-20 mins tops.

Yes, you can turn the water off once it starts the siphon, speed will depend on the height of the water vs the height of the drain. It should still be enough to vacuum up debris but it may take some time if your tank isn't much higher than the drain.

Wow, I can't believe I never thought of that. Water costs a fortune in my area. Thanks again Cichlid Forum!
