Help with Stocking List - Thank you!

Postby Revan » Tue Mar 21, 2017 2:37 pm

Hello,

I'm trying to determine if my community tank is overstocked or not. I would appreciate any and all feedback people might have.

None of these fish are full-grown as of now, but the assumption is this will be their lifelong home.

125 gallon tank (72x18x22) kept at 82 F. Fluval FX6 cannister filter. Moderately planted. 30-40% WC every 2 or 3 days.
- 8 Discus
- 4 Dwarf Gourami (2 fires & 2 powder blues)
- 4 Denison Barbs
- 3 Siamese Flying Fox
- 12 cory cats (4 sterbai, 4 panda, 4 emerald)
- 8 Lemon Tetras
- 8 Cardinal Tetras
- various shrimp and snail cleaning crews

Thank you for any insight you can provide!

Sounds like a great setup.

Just keep an eye on any conspecific aggression between the discus. Make adjustments if needed. With your water change schedule I can't imagine nitrates getting out of hand. Just check it every so often and keep it low.

Any pics?

Looks like a nice set-up. The only fish I am "concerned" with will be the Siamese Flying Fox. From my experience that can be voracious food eat grabbers, and the Discus my not eat fast enough.
The Gouramis may fight among each other though, but with a 72" tank, maybe they can get along.
