Selecting a dither fish

Postby Jdriem » Mon Mar 06, 2017 1:50 pm

Hi all

So I have a 125 gallon aquarium currently stocked with 8 Geophagus Tapajos, 1 Chocolate Cichlid, 1 Geophagus brasiliensis, 1 Green Severum and 1 BN pleco. Largest fish I have is the chocolate at probably 4.5 inches. Looking at possibly getting a Red shoulder severum or a Uaru......

I was thinking about adding some dither fish, what would be a good choice?? Giant Dianos? Florida Flag fish?

Or am I overstocked and leave out the uaru and RS severum?

Thanks,

I think you're pretty will stocked, they will be a load on the tank as they mature. For dithers, I'd say Giant Danios would work, or Buenos Aires Tetras. Florida Flag Fish are bottom dwellers, and would not make very good dithers.

Thanks for the reply, I will disregard the Uaru and RS severum. How many Giant Danios would be good? I was thinking 10
