Biotodoma Cupido tank

Postby lizardboy » Wed Mar 01, 2017 12:09 pm

I'm setting up a 40 breeder for three Panaqolus sp. L002 and plan to put in some Biotodoma cupido. I was planning to get six juvies and then keep one pair, but I was wondering what other fish from Rio Toncantins I could put in the tank. I was thinking some species of corydoras, but I'm not sure if that would be too many bottom dwelling fish.

Are you hoping to breed the L002? If that's not a concern then I'd add the Corys. Provide a lot of wood for cover, especially some small hollowed out sections. Leaves scattered across the bottom. Sounds like a cool tank. Not sure what species of tetra or similar fish are native to the area but that could be an option...
