Re: green tea for torn nipped fins
Melafix contains tea tree oil, but never heard of using green tea that humans drink for treatments.
I find isolation and clean water works best for torn, nipped fins.

If no one is bothering him in his new tank, his fins will heal without intervention. If his tank mates did it, he will be reinjured. Hope all goes well!

Re: green tea for torn nipped fins
Its a species only and hes the only male but they were in a 100g tub with random fish. I just want to speed up the process plus a few of the females a beat up also to i want to treat the entire tank just so the feel safer and healthier. Does that make sense.

Re: green tea for torn nipped fins
Healing happens internally. Nothing you can add to the water will 'heal' the torn fins more quickly. Avoiding stress of the fish can possibly promote healing, or better to say that stress can inhibit healing because of what's going on within the fish during the stressful situation. Clean water, the right tank mates, the right environment etc are the best ways to promote healing. Think in terms of removing inhibitors to healing rather than using additives to promote it.
