I just bought 6 peacocks and the guy (guy off craigslist) sold me a all black cichlid that was with all his peacocks. He was a different race than me( like Indonesian or something) and I couldnt understand him when he said its name. So hopefully you guys will know!

Both males and females can turn dark, but with age the males rarely get the bright yellow bars. They usually stay a dark murky brownish color, get extremely large for an mbuna (like 7-8"), and can be pretty mean a lot of the time. Not really an ideal tankmate for peacocks.

I'm glad I knoW what he is now. The guy I bought him from had him with peacocks and he didn't see to agressive. Hopefully he won't be mean to my fish but if he does I'll sell him. Thanks for the Info

Re: Please ID my unknown cichlid!!!
Even if the Crabro does not chase or bother the Peacocks (if you mean Aulonocara), the Crabro may intimidate the Peacock alpha male so that they do not show full color. So you might want to get rid of the Crabro if the point of the tank is to get full male color. The Crabro will get bigger, and probably get more brown than black.
