Frontosa tank mates

Postby MarkAnthony67 » Wed Mar 01, 2017 8:45 am

Hello everyone. I'm new to the Form.
I have a question I have a125 gal dong Frontosa and calvus. Has anyone ever tried adding a Black Spotted Spiny eel. What are the pros and cons with this idea.

4" calvus that was kept with frontosa.....

I'm not sure about the eel... typically it is a soft water fish, while the frontosa is a hard water fish. It really is going to depend on what the conditions of your water are. Apparently they are prone to fungus, which could be an issue with a cichlid that will grab them, if they are in their cave. The eels also require pristine water conditions, and heavy water changes. It's an interesting idea, but I don't think it would be a good mix.
