Multifasciatus Aggression

Postby emilyo02 » Tue Feb 28, 2017 8:58 pm

I just started a multie tank (15 gal) and have one male and two females in it. The male is really aggressive with the females. He nips and chases them off to the sides of the tank and just hovers over the shells in the middle of the tank. His fins are always flared up as well. Is this normal behavior for males?

It's normal behaviour for males, with other males..... are you certain that you have two females, and not just two smaller males?

How long as the tank been setup? If this is relatively new, I might provide some shelters, or visual barriers... a couple of plants, live, or plastic perhaps... that the females can hide in, or not be seen.
