Ok, so I have a friend with a 55 gallon full setup for $35 and all it needs is a little clean up. It was such a good deal I couldn't pass it up.
Wanting to make it a Tang tank. I like the considering the following species:
Cyprichromis leptosoma - 12
1 pair from each group (max of 2 pairs):
Altolamprologus calvus or compressiceps
Neolamprologus leleupi or cylindricus
Julidochromis or Chalinochromis
Telmatochromis vittatus, bifrenatus or brichardi
The cookie cutters are ambitious IMO. A recipe for success in a 55 gallon is...
Cyps, yes 12-15
2 rockdwelling species
or 1 rock dweller and 1 shellie group.
Get 6 of each. Sometimes you end up with 2 pairs or a harem depending on species.

Yes. After years of cookie cutters that weren't realistic, I forgot they got revamped in January. Thanks for reminding me!
